Ready?

Betta Care: Feeding Time
Bettas are carnivores. They thrive on a diet of live food like mosquito larva, snails, brine shrimp, daphnia and all manner of worms . Just don't over feed. Limit dinner time to what they can eat in less than a minute. Some breeders also let them fast for a day a week to give them a chance to clean out their digestive system.

Roommates
Female bettas can be kept in groups. Males are better off in solitary confinement since they are highly territorial.

Gravel
While you may find it attractive gravel can be a deadly haven for bacteria. Worms hide in it and bettas can't eat what they can't find. Then too uneaten food pellets can't be easily removed either. Which can result in cloudy polluted water. Besides gravel adds to your cleaning chores.

Plants
Healthy live plants look good and give your fish a place to hide. Sickly plants create water problems. If you want artificial plants think silk not plastic, since plastic plants are hard on your betta's fins.
